Terms of Service

The plain-English summary of how Yolog works as a service. The binding terms are below; the bullets at the top are a non-binding overview.

The plain-English version

  • You own your aircraft records. We host them; we don't own them.
  • You can export everything as a signed PDF or CSV at any time, including after canceling.
  • We will not edit, delete, or alter your signed entries — not for any reason.
  • If we shut down the service, you get at least 180 days' notice and a complete data export.
  • Mechanic signing links are single-use, scoped to one aircraft, and expire in 48 hours.
  • We don't sell, share, or commercialize your data.

1. The service

Yolog ("the service") is a maintenance recordkeeping platform for aircraft owners. The service consists of: (a) a web application accessible at yolog.aero; (b) the email/SMS notification system; (c) the mechanic signing endpoint accessible via expiring single-use URLs.

2. Your records

All aircraft records you upload to the service remain your property. You grant us a limited license to process, store, transmit, and back up those records solely for the purpose of operating the service.

3. Cryptographic signing

The service applies cryptographic signatures (SHA-256 hash chaining and HMAC-SHA256) to entries signed by mechanics. These signatures are intended to make tampering detectable. Yolog does not represent or warrant any specific legal weight a court or regulatory body may assign to these signatures.

4. Subscription and payment

The service is offered on a monthly or annual subscription basis, beginning with a 14-day free trial that requires no credit card. Cancellation is available at any time through account settings; cancellation stops all future billing. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee: if you are not satisfied, contact us within 30 days of your first paid charge and we will refund it in full.

5. Data retention and export

While your subscription is active, your data is retained indefinitely. After cancellation, your data remains exportable for 90 days, then transferred to cold storage for an additional 18 months before deletion.

6. Service continuity

If Yolog ceases operations, we commit to providing all customers with: (a) at least 180 days' advance written notice; (b) a complete export of all account data in PDF and CSV format; (c) reasonable assistance in transitioning to alternate providers.

7. Limitations of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. Yolog is not a substitute for the underlying compliance obligations imposed on you as the aircraft owner under 14 CFR.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
